This was a hot and incredibly bright day, working on positioning and using the sun as a direct light source was the best way to create each image. Either that or hunt for shade for overheating equipment and overheating photographers.
Thirlmere is probably my favourite place anywhere. To be able to photograph a wedding there was such an awesome treat. Being able to do it on behalf of Mike and Sophie made it even better. The Humanist ceremony on the grass at Dale Head Hall was perfect, couple that with a marquee and ceilidh in the evening and you have all the ingredients for a great wedding day.
Bits not to miss were the awesome speeches and the amazing floristry from LilyLou.
After ten years driving past their gates heading to venues further south in the Lake District, it was a real pleasure to photograph a wedding at Dale Head Hall and although they aren’t too common I hope I get the chance to do so again. The views across the valley are incredible and the staff who helped with the day were exceptional.
